COMPETITION: Bonnie & Clyde

18 May 2014

Back in February our TV screens were hit by a new two-part series telling the tragic love story of fearsome duo, Bonnie & Clyde. If you missed this new adaptation, featuring Emile Hirsch (Clyde Barrows) and Holliday Grainger (Bonnie Parker), have no fear! Sony Pictures Home Entertainment are releasing the mini TV series on DVD from Monday. To celebrate I will be giving away a copy of this wonderful adaptation and also having a look at how you can get the Bonnie look.

I'm looking forward to being able to swoon to my hearts content over the wonderful costumes Marilyn Vance put together for the TV series. Vance is an award winning costume designer and she was also the lady who brought you the pink prom dress worn by Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink and the iconic leather jacket worn by Ferris Bueller on his legendary day off. Getting her inspiration from newspaper clippings of the duo's bank robberies, she injected bold and vibrant colours into Bonnie's outfits. The result chic and feminine.

Vance's research was extensive and you can see she did a wonderful job in re-creating outfits that the original Bonnie Parker wore. Take this black knit suit with chevron detail. It's practically identical! From the bolero jacket to the stylish black beret. Even the shotgun.

To get the Bonnie look think fluted midi skirts, chic berets and quaint T-bar shoes. I've compiled some key items below. The 1930s were all about the cinched-in waists and showing off the female form, unlike the boyish 1920s where breasts were strapped down and silhouettes were shapeless with loose and boxy drop-down waists. This black skirt from 20th Century Foxy is magnificent. Providing the perfect 1930s silhouette. I also really want to get my hands on this black and white silk scarf I found on ASOS Marketplace. A hefty price tag at £140 but perfect for creating chevron lines when tied into a muffler knot.

Black & white scarf £140 > ASOS Marketplace, Lace blouse £22 >  BeyondRetro
Black flutter skirt £58 > 20th Century Foxy, T-Strap 1930s shoes £POA > Revival Retro, Beret £12.99 > ASOS

And finally, I'm giving you the chance to win a copy of Bonnie & Clyde on DVD.  To enter simply leave a comment below and tell us who portrayed Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrows in the 1967 film and confirm that you have in the Rafflecopter below. The competition ends on Sunday 25th May at midnight.

Good luck everybody!

COMPETITION: Win PAN AM on DVD!!!

1 March 2013

Pan Am graced our TV screens early last year full of Sixties glam and lots of jetting off to far away places. I have been patiently waiting to hear if there will be a second series but unfortunately ABC has decided not to renew and the show has been grounded. Although this is very disappointing news, Sony will be releasing the complete series of Pan Am on DVD, available in the UK from Monday 4th March 2013. I am extremely excited about this and can't wait to watch this fabulous show on repeat and dream about Maggie's (played by Christina Ricci) clothes.

To celebrate the release, I have been given 3 copies of this 4 disc set by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to give away. Now you will be able to dribble at the amazing Sixties costumes to your hearts content whenever you want in the comfort of your own home.

For your chance of winning simply answer this question via the rafflecopter below.

Who plays Maggie in PAN AM?

A. Margot Robbie
B. Christina Ricci
C. Mike Vogel

You can earn extra entries by liking our Facebook page and Twitter and if you are already a fan then you're already half way there!

Winners will be picked at random on Monday 11th March 2013 via Facebook, Twitter or email. Share with your friends and any fans of the show out there. This is a competition not to be missed!

Big love and good luck!
