Howdy peeps!

Would you like to be the next face of Vintage Owl Boutique? 

The newly revamped website is nearly ready to launch and I'm looking for a girl who loves her vintage and has a sense of style to model our new stock.

REQUIREMENTS...
You will need to be available either on a Monday - Wednesday or Saturday/Sunday
The shoot will be held in Brighton.
(Please consider this and don't apply if you live in Scotland and you have no way of getting down here)
Female models only!
All shapes and sizes are welcome.
This opportunity may require 2 models as there will be a lot of outfit changes.

Entries will be put on our Facebook page where people can vote for their favorite entries.
The top 5 girls with the most likes will then be judged and picked by VOB HQ


This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to build up their portfolio.
Plus you will get to choose an item of clothing to take home with you on the day
and 20% off your next purchases at VOB!
Food and refreshments will also be supplied all day.

It's Vintage Owl's 1st Birthday!!

Twit twoo, twit twoo!!!

I am very proud to say that Vintage Owl Boutique is 1 year old today! One whirlwind year on and we have created our own online shop and have also been doing the circuits of vintage fairs around Brighton and Sussex. We have executed 2 highly successful photo-shoots and have featured in several publications, online and in print.

There are so many people that we need to thank for their continued support over the last 12 months. Our families; Molly, Felix, Pete, Alex, Mums, Dads, Sisters and Brothers. Our many friends; J & Jo, Katie & Carlo, Emer Gillespie, Beth Steddon, Kate Forester, Michelle Cooke, Tanja Stocklin, Panwad Maneetapho, Dave Pop & Jeremy, Gemma Wheatcroft, Choccywoccydoodah, Vintage Brighton, Roses All Over, Frock Me, The Vintage Fair, Jenny & Paul Banham and everyone else that's been there along the way - You Know Who You Are!! The past year would have been impossible to curate, organize and deal with were it not for your love and belief in what we're doing.

I am so excited about where we could be by this time next year.  Vintage Owl is evolving for the better. We will be embracing and expanding our homemade-handmade section and you will be able to witness some of this new collection at AOH Artists Open House in the month of May (watch this space for more info on that). Cassie is designing a new made-to-measure collection for those who like the vintage look but not the vintage sizes and has also started an alterations service  (call 07876128884 for more details or even just come and see us at one of our fairs).

Dreams of flying...

We had our first proper photo shoot a couple of weeks ago and we finally got the results this week! They are fabulous! And truly can't believe we produced such beautiful work. We have a fabulous team to thank though and I don't think we would have been able to do it with out them.

On the day, we were located at the amazing Shoreham Airport. We had so much fun there. I think we would have spent longer taking photographs if we hadn't run out of memory space on the camera. It was a good thing though, as the electric high energy that had surrounded us all morning was starting to flag... and boy, was I tired (probably didn't help that I had decided to go to Spindle's third issue launch party the night before).

The items of clothing used for the shoot are a mixture of 1950s to 1980s. The dress below looks like it should be from the Twenties... but alas... it is an 80s replica (perfect for that Broadwalk Empire look though).  Most of the items will be available to buy on the website. Update on this soon... but for now... peruse and tell us what you think.

Fashion! Turn to the left. Fashion! Turn to the right.....

The long awaited photo shoot was last Saturday and it couldn't have gone more perfectly. Even though there was rain, the weather still seemed to be on our side. We were a team of six that clicked really well and the location was also a pleasure to work with.  Having consumed lots of coffee we were all buzzing and there was no stress to be seen. Perfect! The clothes worked better than I could have imagined. It was almost as if they were made for our models, so hardly any pinning or tucking needed to be done.

Any ho, here are some photos from the day. They are only ones I took on my phone... but it will give you a little sneaky preview on some of the outfits and location! Enjoy :)
